A backlink checker that does the judging for you

Not all links are equal. Serpstash sorts the ones that help you rank from the ones Google ignores.

Every backlink, found for you

The links pointing to your website, the number of different websites linking to you, and your spam score.

Link quality ratings

Strong, Good, Weak or Spam, based on the linking website’s authority, whether the link is do-follow, and its spam score.

New links every week

Each weekly update flags the new backlinks you’ve earned, so you can see what your outreach brings in.

Filters that cut the noise

Show the best links only, hide spam, or look at spam links on their own if you’re thinking of disavowing them.

Links and Authority together

See how new backlinks move your Authority, checked daily, so you know which links made a difference.

Check any website’s backlinks

The Backlink checker tool shows the links pointing to any website or page, like a competitor’s best guide.

Authority tracking

See what each new link does for you

Your Authority sums up how strong your backlinks are compared with other websites. Serpstash checks it every day, so a jump after a great new link shows up right away.

  • Set a goal and see how far there is to go.
  • Your history at a glance: the last 30 days, 90 days, a year or all time.

What are backlinks, and why do they matter?

A backlink is a link from another website to yours. Google treats links like votes: when strong, relevant websites link to a page, Google sees it as more trustworthy and is more likely to rank it. For competitive searches, backlinks are often what separates page one from page three.

But the number of links matters less than their quality. One link from a respected local news site can be worth more than hundreds from directories nobody visits. That’s why Serpstash rates every link instead of just counting them.

How to read your backlink profile

Linking websites beat total links

Fifty links from one website count for much less than fifty links from fifty different websites. Watch your number of linking websites, not just your total backlinks.

Focus on Strong and Good links

Use the Best filter to see the links doing the heavy lifting. They show you which kinds of websites link to businesses like yours, and where to look for more.

Don’t panic about spam

Almost every website picks up some spam links. Google usually ignores them. Only consider disavowing if spam makes up a large share of your links.

Turn links into rankings

Backlinks raise your authority, and authority makes every page easier to rank. Follow the effect on your Authority and Google rankings, and see how your link profile compares in competitor analysis. Backlink tracking is included on paid plans; see pricing.

FAQ

Backlink tracker questions, answered

What makes a backlink Strong, Good, Weak or Spam?

Strong links are do-follow links from websites with an authority of 30 or more: the ones that help you rank most. Good links come from websites with an authority of 10 or more. Weak links come from new or small websites, or pages that link to 100+ websites. Spam links have a high spam score.

Which plans include backlink tracking?

Backlink tracking for your own websites is included on paid plans, updated every week. The Backlink checker tool uses keyword credits, 1 per backlink.

Should I worry about spam backlinks?

Usually not. Google ignores most spam links, so a few aren’t a problem. If you have a lot of them, you can disavow them in Google Search Console.

What is a spam score?

A score out of 100 for how many of your links come from low-quality websites. Lower is better.

How do I get more backlinks?

Get listed in local directories and associations, ask suppliers and partners to link to you, write guest articles, and create useful pages people want to share, like guides, tools or local data.
